A SPORTING accident could not stop youngster Jacques Flanders from standing on the podium after the final round of the Spring Junior Karting Championships Series at Castle Combe race track last Sunday.
And Chipping Sodbury’s Lewis Adams came close to taking a title as well.
Yate driver Flanders was unable to take part in Sunday’s competition due to a football accident last Saturday when he broke his collarbone.
But he managed to get to the venue in order to receive his trophy.
Meanwhihle, the Novice Championship was also hotly contested with the top three covered by just one point.
With Joseph Dalgarno, from Tadley, took the victory from Adams.
However, they were equal on points and Dalgarno only won it on countback to the highest scoring round of the series.
