Hellenic League Division One West
Cirencester Town 2 Tytherington Rocks 2
THIS game started with two of the quickest goals in the league this season.
In the third minute, Rocks won a corner, taken from the right by Joe Walters. The ball went high into the six yard box and was partly cleared by keeper Josh Langley straight to Courtney Charles who made no mistake from close range to put Rocks one up.
The lead lasted only a minute as, straight from the re-start, Cirencester got the ball in the the Rocks penalty area and a shot which keeper Chris Manns collected then somehow dropped into his own net.
This was a very rare error from the keeper as for the remainder of the game he handled all the Cirencester efforts on goal.
Both teams attacked when possible and in the 34th minute, Town took the lead when from the left as a low shot from the edge of the penalty box by Jack Smith into the far corner of the net made it 2-1.
The second-half started with Rocks well on top and several good efforts went un-rewarded, with the best from Shomari Sengor who came through from midfield and hit a great shot from just inside the box which brought an equally good save from keeper Langley.
Rocks levelled in the 53rd minute when Joshua Charles was brought down by keeper Langley. Joe Walters hit the penalty low to the right of the keeper.
A draw was a fair result for both sides and now Rocks are now at home on Saturday to Carterton FC with a 3pm kick-off.
