Stroud and District League Division Three
Longlevens 3rds 1 Thornbury Town Reserves 2

THORNBURY Reserves grabbed victory a great victory against a strong Longlevens side to get off the mark this season.
The home side started strongly, playing very direct through their strong centre forward, however he remained contained, thanks to a good defensive show from a make-shift back four.
Thornbury took the lead after 15 minutes, after great work from Dan Worsley and a 50-yard ball from Matt Constable that fell at the feet of Rich Curtis to strike home from the edge of the box.
Twenty minutes later, Phil Twinn started a move on the counter attack to allow Constable to slot past the home keeper.
Longlevens piled on the pressure until 85 minutes when they finally got a goal with a scrappy finish.
There were excellent displays from Dan Worsley, Twinn and a man of the match effort from Curtis which ensured Town's first points of the season.
