Avon Youth League Division 3
Thornbury Town U-16 1 Winterbourne Utd 3

THORNBURY entertained Winterbourne United at the Chantry Playing Fields in what was a very entertaining game.
The home team started playing down the slope looking for a repeat of their fast start from the previous game.
The opening exchanges were evenly contested. However, it was the visitors who took an early lead when they were awarded a free kick which was taken quickly and caught the home team napping.
The ball was played square and the resulting shot was hit with venom from distance past the stranded home keeper.
The home team responded gallantly by going on the attack as they forced the visitors onto the back foot, Cooper nearly equalised when he was played through but his effort was well saved by the visiting keeper.
Thornbury did find an equaliser when the ball fell to Charlie Exell in midfield and from a full 30 yards he hit an unstoppable shot that sailed over the keeper.
Thorns  struggled to contain Winterbourne early in second-half and it was the visitors who  dominated possession and territorial advantage, regaining  the lead when a smart shot found the net.
Winterbourne wrapped up the points when their player grabbed his hat-trick when his shot looped up and over the keeper off a Thornbury defender.
