Avon Youth League, Division Four
Thornbury Town U-14 6,
Yate United Colts 0

THORNBURY hit six in a convincing win that restored confidence following some recent tough fixtures.
Town pushed forward from the start, putting pressure on the visitors’ defence. Rhys Trohear’s looping shot came close to opening the scoring but was well saved by the Yate keeper.
Thornbury were well organised at the back and Michael Moon and Benjy Burgess were quick to close down a couple of first half Yate chances.
Despite having the majority of first half possession Thornbury did not open the scoring into after the break.Speedy Sam Flawn, on the left, broke the deadlock.
Although the keeper got a hand to the ball, it was not enough to prevent his shot finding the back of the net. Flawn shortly added a second with a low angled shot following a good cross from Leighton Tuodolo.
Mike Winnett made it three for Thornbury, fighting hard to win the ball in the box and hitting the target in a crowded penalty area.
Thornbury were now in control and  Yate’s defence was unable to prevent Tuodolo from knocking in a cross from the right which found Chris Webbe who gave the keeper no chance to increase Town’s lead to 4-0.
Tuodolo, from a Mike Winnett through ball, powered in a low shot for Thornbury’s fifth and Flawn, with a perfectly timed volley, made it six - and completed his hat trick.
