Hellenic League
Fairford Town FC 4 Tytherington Rocks FC 0

TYTHERINGTON Rocks started this game with some very good attacking football and for about 70% of the play took the game game to Fairford, however in their first real attack

Fairford took the lead when a cross from the right to the far side of the penalty box was collected by Matt Boucher  who fired his shot low into the corner of the net giving keeper Chris Mann little chance of saving it to put the home side one up against the run of play.

The nearest Rocks got to getting the equaliser came just after  when a through ball split the home defence and Shomare Sengor went through and his low shot was saved by keeper Ben Mitchell, this being the only real threat to Fairford despite Rocks having more possession than the home side.

In the last minute of the first half Rocks conceded a set piece goal when a corner from the right was met by Luke Cordery who fired home from close range to put the home side two up.

The second half continued in  much the same way with Rocks making progress until it came to the final quarter where they lacked any striking power and failed to test the home keeper, again Rocks conceded a soft goal failing to clear a cross and once again Boucher collected the ball and fired home from just inside the penalty box to put the home side three up and now out of reach of any Rocks comeback.

Fairford completed the scoring in the eighty third minute when a corner from the right was headed by a Rocks defender onto the back of another player which came to Cordery who scored his second of the game and gave the home side a four nil win.

From a Rocks view this score line did not really reflect the amount of play that they had during the whole game, however they lack the ability to finish off some of their approach play and badly need players who can hit the target.

Rocks next game is at home to Letcombe FC on Saturday 24th October KO 3.00pm.
