THORNBURY Squash Club made it a clean sweep of wins this week with all 4 teams claiming victory. Thornbury A got their promotion bid going with a 19-0 win over Lansdown B which moves the team up to 3rd in Bristol & District Premier B.

New players Callum and Sam Davidson both won comfortably, their addition adding real strength to the squad and greatly improving the team's chances of winning the league. With injured captain Brad Jenkins still to return, the team are well placed to aim for the league title.

Thornbury B defeated Bristol University Ballers 17-5. Alex Hall was on form dropping just 1 point in a 9-0, 9-0, 9-1 victory. There were also wins for Rob Livingstone, Justin Edwards and Chris Hutchene. The result means the B team retain their place at the top of the division 1 table.

Thornbury C have now produced back to back wins and move up to 3rd in the division 2 table following a 16-6 win against Westbury David Lloyd B. There were wins for Nige Tovey, Dale Curtis, Ian Talbot and Ian Johnson.

Thornbury D also won for the second week in a row with victory at Bristol Lawn Tennis & Squash Club by 3 matches to 2. Nick Clifton and Colin Preece won 3-0 and in a tight match Bill Ellis battled back from 8-2 down in the 5th set to win 10-8 and claim the decisive victory and bonus points for the team.
