IT was a tremendous week for Thornbury Squash Club as they surged to victories across the board against their respective opposition.
There was no stopping the sides as they made it a clean sweep of wins with all four teams claiming victory. 
Thornbury A got their promotion bid going with a thumping 19-0 win over Lansdown B.
The whitewash win moves Thornbury A up to third in the Bristol and District Premier B table.
New players Callum and Sam Davidson both won comfortably, their addition adding real strength to the squad and greatly improving the team’s chances of winning the league. 
With injured captain Brad Jenkins still to return, the team are well placed to aim for the league title, which they will certainly be in with a shout of if they continue to take big victories like this over Lansdown.
Elsewhere, there were more successes for the club as Thornbury B defeated Bristol University Ballers 17-5. 
Alex Hall was on form, dropping just one point in a 9-0, 9-0, 9-1 victory. 
There were also wins for Rob Livingstone, Justin Edwards and Chris Hutchene. 
The result means the B team retain their place at the top of the division one table.
Thornbury C have now produced back-to-back wins and move up to third place in the division two table following a 16-6 win against Westbury David Lloyd B. 
There were wins for Nigel Tovey, Dale Curtis, Ian Talbot and Ian Johnson as Westbury David Lloyd B were unable to keep up with the onslaught that struck them.
Thornbury D also won for the second week in a row with victory at Bristol Lawn Tennis and Squash Club by three matches to two.
Nick Clifton and Colin Preece won 3-0, and in a tight match Bill Ellis battled back from 8-2 down in the fifth set to win 10-8 and claim the decisive victory and bonus points for the team.
