OVER sixty budding golfers attended Thornbury Golf Club’s Give Golf A Go taster day during the Easter holidays.
The youngsters, aged from seven to 16, were taken through the basics of the game, including driving, chipping and putting, by Thornbury’s PGA professionals Jason Fallon and (the other chap).
The two-hour sessions were organised by the club’s junior committee and were aimed at encouraging children to either take up golf, or develop their game.
“The response was brilliant and we hope some of them will either join the club as junior members or attend our regular coaching groups,” said Jason.
Drop in coaching session for juniors are held every weekend at the club between 10 and 11am on Saturdays and 1 and 2pm on Sundays for ages five to 10, and an hour later for ages 11 to 16 and cost just £5.
