LAST Sunday, Olveston and District Bowling Club hosted a friendly match with Begbrook Green Bowling Club from Bristol.
The match was sponsored by PBF Wealth Management Ltd, who are sponsoring Olveston to the value of £15,000 that has gone towards a new clubhouse.
A magnum of champagne was up for grabs for the winning rink which went to Olveston.
Pedro Bonillo-Farias, director of PBF, based in Bradley Stoke, who was on hand to present the prize said: “It has been a fun afternoon and with the sun shining, it has been very enjoyable.
“Since sponsoring Olveston Bowling Club, I’m now in a position to say that bowls is not as easy as it looks”.
Olveston Sunday captain Ken Leach was delighted with the result. “It has been a great day and I would like the thank Pedro for sponsoring us and being involved in helping us to achieve the construction of our new clubhouse”.
Pedro and his son Antonio presented the winning rink, from left to right, Hazel Baker, Trevor Williams, Grace Moore and John Paton with their prize.
