Bristol Pakistani – 238ao Alveston – 225ao

After a great victory against Cleve the previous weekend, Alveston travelled to Bristol Pakistani in what turned out to be a closely fought game.

Fielding first, Bristol Pakistani started strongly with both openers hitting well on a fast outfield. Despite this Alveston stuck to their plan and wickets started to fall at regular intervals.

Kaine Sargent (4-28) and Martin Wistow (3-45) left the home side struggling at 188-9 with only Huram (67) really getting in on a lively wicket. The final wicket though added 50 runs finishing on 238-10, allowing both teams to take maximum batting and bowling points,

In reply Alveston started well with Mike Grunshaw(39) and Matt Roberts(10) putting on 61 for the 1st wicket. With both gone, Alveston lost wickets at key points and fell behind the run rate required.

Josh Pearce(76) dug in well and kept the score moving along and with 4 overs left an unlikely victory was still within reach for the team. With the light fading however the final wicket fell in the 44th over with Alveston on 225.
