Devon 102 all out off 38.5 overs Gloucestershire 103 for 8 off 32.5 overs

GLOUCESTERSHIRE Under-15 Girls moved four points clear at the top of their ECB division after winning their second game in a row, away at Devon.

Frenchay’s Naima Milhofer took 2-19 and top scored with 22 in a good all-round team performance.

Gloucestershire won the toss and struck early, twice through Milhofer and once through skipper Danielle Gibson (2-20).

By the end of the fifth over, Devon were 15-3 but they recovered with a good fourth wicket stand of 36 runs.

Phoebe Pearce (2-20) broke the partnership when she had Rebecca Halliday caught by Milhofer for 29.

From there, wickets fell steadily with good fielding contributing to Devon’s downfall.

There were two run outs, one from Molly Thomas (Bristol Phoenix) and the second from Gibson The home side were eventually bowled out for 102 runs in the 39th over.

In reply, Gloucestershire attacked from the start but lost wickets at regular intervals. Milhofer and Pearce’s fourth wicket partnership of 20 proved the highest of the innings as a number of player’s made starts but were unable to go on.

Pearce, who made 17, helped keep the visitors on course for their second win of the season, sharing in stands of 17 with 17 with Maisie Hunkin (six), also from Frenchay, and 19 with Chloe Skelton (13) of 19, helped bring the game back to Gloucestershire.

When she fell with the score on 87 and two more wickets followed in quick succession it set up a tense finish.

But Ellie Fleck (seven not out) and Emily Kibble (four not out) held on to secure a two wicket win in the 33rd over.
