Chew Magna v Almondsbury
ALMONDSBURY travelled to Chew Magna on Saturday and found themselves on the end of a heavy defeat.
Batting first, Chew Magna batted with style and aggression with Nathan Hawkins scoring a fine 87 and he was well backed up by Jonathon Strand making 49.
The home side’s innings closed on 293-9 with Garth Jackson claiming 2-60 and skipper Andy Parkinson 3-48.
In reply, Almondsbury briefly looked as though they could challenge this total as Jack Kewley and Liam Hartigan set about the bowling.
However, when Hartigan fell for 48 and then Kewley for a fine seventy, the Almondsbury innings crumbled eventually being all out for 183.
Stephen Clothier did the main damage with 3-42 as Almondsbury lost by 110 runs.
