Gloucestershire Women 161 Nottinghamshire Women 97
GLOUCESTERSHIRE women stormed back to the top of the Middle England League with a resounding 64 shot win 161-97 win over Nottinghamshire.
Fran Stockford (Olveston) teamed up with Rita Gerry (Moreton), Val Major (Churchdown) and Gill Fry (Gloucester Spa) and went from 10-2 ahead after five ends to be in total control at halfway leading 18-8 against their opponents.
The gap stayed that way over the next five ends and the rink gaining five shots in the final run in to win 28-19.
This was Gloucestershire’s fourth win as they picked up 16 points with five winning rinks and one that was drawn.
Meanwhile, Sally Rolls (Gloucester Spa) teamed up with Veronica Richie, Di Wilson and Sue Latham (all Olveston) up against T. Wombell, who was skip of her Nottinghamshire side, and took a five shot lead after 10 ends and then scored eight shots to their opponents three to lead 23-13 and won 24-15.
