Kingswood 1 Thornbury Town 2
Thornbury Town’s 2-1 win at Kingswood made up for their exit from the League Cup a few weeks ago.
The visitors started brightly and went ahead after 10 minutes when Luke Franklin latched onto a through ball to fire into the bottom corner.
The home side were reduced to ten men on 20 minutes when Frank Hitchins was red carded for a professional foul.
The home side hit back on 23 minutes when Ryan Mudd’s cut back was swept home by Simon Clark.
Kingswood’s Chris Fox brought of a double save on 35 minutes to keep his side in the game, but right on half time Luke Franklins header on the back post put Thornbury 2-1 up.
Kingswood although down to ten men almost levelled on 65 minutes from a corner by Simon Clark that was met by Gary Simmons on the far post but his header was just wide. This win moved Thornbury up to second place.
