THORNBURY A’s winning run came to an end with a 17-6 loss away to Vivo.

Bradley Jenkins took the only win of the evening coming through 3-1 and debutant Sam Ellis narrowly lost 3-2.

Thornbury stay joint top of the league but David Lloyd in third place have a game in hand, so the chance of the title could rest on that match in two weeks.

Thornbury B team’s 100 per cent record came to an abrupt ending against David Lloyd D.

With Thornbury only being able to field four players coupled with a very strong opposition, the team lost all four matches 3-0.

There was a glimmer of hope for Chris Hutchence who had the best chance of the evening but it was not meant to be. Next week sees the return leg against Bath University, where hopefully the team can regroup and move forwards.

Thornbury C lost out to Bath University’s second team by four matches to one.

The only victory of the night was from Mick Dixon who comfortably won 3-0.

The C team now occupies bottom spot in the league and it looks like it will be a hard battle to stay up.

Thornbury D also lost out four matches to one, Colin Preece winning 3-1 and Viv Bailey-Gard just falling short losing 3-2.

Thornbury E were defeated by Redland H three matches to two.

The evening started off with a comfortable 3-0 win for James Jenkins, but was quickly followed by a 3-1 loss for Bill Ellis.

Lewis Sanders, playing his first match for the Es, was then beaten 3-0.

Graham Dono fought hard to win 3-2 but the final match saw Nigel Ball lose 3-0 with the overall result a 15-7 Redland victory.
