THORNBURY A team are just four points away from topping the Premier A division.

Thornbury A continued to push for the Premier A title with another convincing win over David Lloyd A.

With David Lloyd only fielding three players the match was all but won before it began. Sam Davidson suffered a 3-1 defeat on his return from injury, but Callum Davidson won his match 3-0 and Captain Bradley Jenkins sealed the overall victory winning his match 3-1.

It was the Division One local derby this week with top of the division Thornbury B team taking on Thornbury C who are currently bottom of this division.

Thornbury B won 4-1 on the night maintaining their challenge for promotion. There were 3-0 wins for Alex McMillan, Mark Toseland, Justin Edwards and Chris Hutchence.

The match of the night however was between club captain Ian Talbot and Dale Curtis. Talbot produced some of the best squash of the night unloading his full arsenal of cross court volley drops, boasts, lobs and hard drives which ultimately proved too strong for his experienced opponent, winning the match 3-2.

Thornbury D team suffered a very close defeat losing the tie 3-2 overall on the night against Westbury David Lloyd B team.

Colin Preece won 3-0 and Nick Clifton won 3-1.
