Bristol Churches FA League
Grace Church 2 Thornbury Baptist Church 6
AN early Christmas present for the Thornbury Baptists saw them win 6-2 on a foggy morning in Bath last weekend.
After a slow start to the game both teams started to look threatening, however it was the Baps that broke the deadlock with Cordle taking it round several defenders and finishing well.
He then added to his tally shortly after with a second beautifully taken goal to make it 2-0 going into half time.
Grace started the second half strong and got straight back into the game with a couple of well taken goals quickly making it 2-2.
Grace continued to attack with numbers but couldn’t take the lead after some great defending from Tymko and Blanchard and wonderful saves from Jones in the Baps goal.
After weathering the storm, the Baps then scored when Kelly nodded in off a Hancox cross.
From then on it was plain sailing for the Baps, with two goals from Keen, the second of which was beautifully fired into the top corner with his weaker foot.
Then it was six when Tuck squeezed his shot in off the post.
