HAMBROOK Cricket Club are looking forward to the start of the new cricket season in a few months time.

Before that they will again be hard at work in the coming weeks with pre-season training for both their senior and youth squads.

The seniors start their programme on Tuesday February 7 from 8pm-9pm at Winterbourne International Academy.

The club are keen to build on their phenomenal success of the past two years and are keen to hear from anyone looking for a club in 2017.

First XI skipper Lee Dyer said: "The last two years have been brilliant for us with back to back promotions. We know of a number of clubs that are struggling at the moment. For a small club like Hambrook to be thriving is fantastic. We really can't wait to get back in the nets".

The club have again engaged the services of ECB Level Three coach Neil Higginson as Head Coach for the 2017 season as well as the services of an overseas player.

Not to be outdone the youth section starts training on Saturday February 18 at 2pm at Yate International Academy for those in school years five and upwards.

Youth co-ordinator Rich Carter said: "As always we have an open door to anyone wanting to play cricket.

"We run a programme for boys and girls from ages five to 17 based around having fun whilst the young players learn the game. This year we have plenty of room for more players especially in years five, six, seven and eight"
