BRISTOL City supporters will get to see their side emerge from the new Lansdown Stand tunnel for the first time against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow night (Tuesday, 7.45pm kick-off).

The new dressing room areas are ready for the visit of the Owls in the Sky Bet Championship, as City look to get back winning ways.

Head coach Lee Johnson and his players familiarised themselves with their new surroundings with a training session at Ashton Gate on Friday before the Emirates FA Cup tie at Burnley.

City's chief operating officer Mark Ashton said: "We have waited a long time for this moment and we are all delighted with the new facilities that have been provided to us at Ashton Gate. It would be remiss of me not to thank everyone who has been involved and so committed to the project.

"We have first-class facilities that we can all be proud of. Now truly is the time to make Ashton Gate into a fortress."

Bristol Rugby will get their first access to the home dressing room for Sunday’s Aviva Premiership clash with Exeter Chiefs (3pm kick-off).

Head coach Mark Tainton said: “We’re pleased with the new, top drawer facilities in the Lansdown Stand. On behalf of everyone at the rugby club, we thank everyone who has worked on the project to get the facilities ready.”

The brand-new Media Centre, situated in the north west corner of the stadium, will also be opened to the press for the first time.

Martin Griffiths, chairman of Bristol Sport said: “The tunnel is the heart of any stadium and it will be a proud moment to see the players run out from it on Tuesday evening. This redevelopment project began in the summer of 2014 and has seen the transformation of Ashton Gate into a stadium that is fit for the exciting, modern city Bristol has become."
