THORNBURY u18s entertained Frampton on Severn at the Mundy Playing fields and fir the second week running they scored seven goals.

The home team started the match the stronger team and were playing some nice free flowing football against a visiting team who were playing a strong physical game.

However Thornbury were dominating the possession and the game was being played mainly in Frampton’s half.

Thorns were creating chances but a combination of wasteful finishing last ditch defending prevented the home team from taking the lead. However their dominance prevailed when Dan O'Connor beat the offside trap slotted the ball home to give a Thornbury a deserved lead.

A few minutes later thorns doubled their lead when Jake Budd slotted home. Frampton were having to work hard and were finding hard to create and chances.

Ryan Tyler in Thornbury’s goal was a spectator. Thornbury grabbed their third goal after some strong attacking play so the ball break to Jake Budd who grabbed his second of the game. Shortly before halftime it was 4-0 to Thornbury when Denym Di Mauro grabbed his first goal of the game.

The second half continued with the theme of the first and the home teams dominance soon paid off when they made it 5-0 when Denym Di Mauro grabbed his second of the game. Half time substitute Charlie Exell made it 6-0 with a good strong run and a smart finish past the overworked visiting goalkeeper.

Thornbury were then awarded a penalty shortly after but Felix Brittan who took the spot kick saw his attempt saved by Frampton’s goalkeeper. Denym Di Mauro then nearly completed his hat trick when a cross from the left saw his overhead scissor kick go narrowly wide.

However he was not to be denied and completed his hat trick after another flowing move saw him have time and space to slot the ball home.
