TYTHERINGTON athlete Dan Studley opened his 2017 season on Saturday by winning the Wiltshire 10 mile road race at Melksham.
Dan blasted clear at the start on his debut 10 miles as part of his plan to step up to longer distance races .
He eventually won the race by almost three minutes clocking a course record time of 49:34mins.
His winning time should prove to be one of the fastest 10 mile figures in Great Britain this year. This proved his recent block of warm weather training has been a success.
Dan is now targeting his first half marathon in March at the prestigious Hague half marathon in Holland - where a strong field will be guaranteed.
Then it will be the National Road relays for his club Bristol and West in Birmingham.
