THE HARD work of one of Thornbury rugby club’s longest serving and most dedicated volunteers was recognised recently when she was presented with two awards by the Gloucestershire Rugby Football Union.

Beattie Fensome was presented with a certificate recognising her “extraordinary service given freely to Thornbury RFC”.

In addition, she was presented with the County’s top award as the “outstanding volunteer”, an award based on Beattie’s cumulative contribution to Thornbury that began before many of the current players were born.

She was presented with the awards by England internationals Mike Tindall and David Flatman at Minchinhampton RFC.
