The Year 8 football team from The Castle School have won 2 cup finals in successive weeks, capping off a memorable year.

The boys won the Bristol and South Gloucestershire Schools Cup remaining unbeaten throughout the qualifying pool and stage, beating Ashton Park Sports College 2-1 in the final. Goals were scored by Ben Courtier and Ben Platt. Captain James Walker had a fine game in goal, making a number of important saves to keep his team in the game.

The team were then scheduled to play against the area winners from Cheltenham, Stroud and Gloucester in the South West area final. Bournside School had been unbeaten all year but The Castle team rose to the occasion and dominated the game. Goals from Ben Courtier (3) and Charlie Moss and a resolute defensive performance from Theo Stowell, Ben Platt, Joe Pearmain and Aaron Tull gave Castle the 4-0 victory.

A tremendous achievement from a very talented group of players.
