ALTHOUGH the weather had cooled down, there was a hot game of bowls when Olveston and District Bowling Club hosted a friendly match with Begbrook Green Bowling Club from Bristol.
It was a very close call, as the two teams scoring the highest were playing each other and went into the last end 21 all. It was down to the skips to decide the outcome and with the last bowl of the end, Arlene Main of Olveston drew the shot to give the home team the honours.
The winning rink were, Rolly Moore, David Thomas, Jim Whitehart and Arlene Main.
Bob Borland was Olveston captain for the day and said: "That was a nail biting end to the match" said Bob. "Well done to the Olveston team for winning the wine and I'm pleased to say, we won overall as well. "
