THORNBURY'S Castle School took Year Seven boys and girls to take part in the athletics and a Year Eight girls team to take part in rounders events at the Level Three West of England School Games, took place at the University of Bath, last week.
There were seven different activities being represented by schools from all Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset Council areas.
The Year Seven girls team was made up of Sophia Tang, Charlotte Neary, Freya Hickling, Zoe Henderson, Alex Edmonds and Naomi Dawson.
Despite the heat, the girls performed outstandingly and due to the high level of competition from other strong individual performances, the girls knew they had to be at their best and were second, just behind Colston girls.
This was a great opportunity for the girls, to experience high level competition, at such an inspiring venue. It was great to see so many students, showing enthusiasm and passion for competition.
The Year Eight rounders team had a great competition, but narrowly missed going into the final play-offs by just half a rounder.
