HUGH McPherson was in prolific form, toeing the racing line on three separate occasions last week.

His first race was on Monday at the Frampton 10k. Hugh finished in 272nd place and 12th V60 in 54:20 mins.

Second was the Rockhampton Fun Run on Thursday and his last race was the Gloucester 10k on Sunday.

Hugh finished in 54:43 in 255th place and fifth V60.

He was joined by Richard Jackson who was the club’s first finisher in 45:56 mins in 73rd place and Liam Symonds-Barry in 250th place in 54:50 mins.

Three Thornbury runners travelled to London on Monday for the Newham 10k.

Five-time Olympian Jo Pavey sounded the starter’s horn before the runners looped around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park before finishing in the Olympic Stadium.

Jo Williams was 1,418th in 52:03 mins, followed by husband Mark, in 52:04 in 1,420th place.

Jon Welsh found the hot conditions challenging to finish in 59:54 mins for 3,037th place.

Kevin Arnold produced one of his fastest runs for several months at Riverfront parkrun in Newport in 27th place in 21:53 mins.

Five runners made it to Chipping Sodbury on Saturday morning for the parkrun.

Andy Darton came sixth in 18:50 mins. Jim Godden was 11th in 19:54 mins, Malcolm Carr ran 25:44 mins, Karen Carr 26:11 mins, and Anne Palmer finished in 33:17 mins.
