CAITLIN Lynam, of Severnside Tritons, won a bronze medal double at the Swim England National Summer Meet in the 50 and 100 metre breaststroke events.

After qualifying in first place in the heats of the 100m race, Caitlin swam a new personal best time of 1.15.66mins.

She then followed that up four days later in the 50m event by again placing third in the final, in another personal best time.

Severnside had three swimmers who qualified for this summer’s nationals held in Sheffield.

Jess Part joined Caitlin in the pool at Ponds Forge, whilst Alice Hayward took part in the Open Water Festival, swimming in the 1.5km event.

Alice qualified for the national competition in her first open water race at Weymouth back in June, where she picked up both a county gold and a regional silver medal.

Over the same distance in the lake at Rother Valley she bettered her time by one and a half minutes.

Jess, swimming in her first national competition, competed in the 800 metre event on the final day of competition.

Jess qualified for the nationals in May.
