PORTISHEAD Bowling Club returned to Olveston and District Bowling Club for a second time this season and competed in a ladies friendly fours match.
Last time the clubs met, it was a hard fought draw but this time, Olveston walked away with the spoils.
To add a little spice to the game, the ladies were playing for four bottles of wine to the highest scoring rink.
The teams couldn't have asked for better bowling conditions with the sun shining and the green running well.
Both Captains agreed that it had been a great day. "With the donation of the wine from one of our sponsors, it certainly adds a bit more of a competitive edge" said Sue Wilkins, Olveston Ladies' captain.
"Not only were we playing against Portishead, but each Olveston rink wanted to win the wine".
Portishead Ladies vice captain, Pam Taylor also enjoyed the day, saying: "We look forward coming up to Olveston as we are made very welcome and have an enjoyable game of bowls. Although, it would have been even better if we had won".
