Winterbourne 2nds 192-6 beat Almondsbury 191-9 by four wickets

ALMONDSBURY’S season finished in disappointment on Saturday when they lost to Winterbourne by four wickets.

Batting first, Almondsbury collapsed to 80-6 before Aaron Jones with a robust 56 and Liam Hartigan with 38 restored some respect to the side in setting a challenge of 191-9 in the allotted overs.

The wickets were evenly spread amongst the Winterbourne bowlers with Lewis Ford 2-25, David Andrews 1-23, Benjamin Parker 3-37, Chris Shine 2-25 and Michael Burgess 1-28 doing the damage.

In reply, Winterbourne reached their target with 8 balls to spare, thanks to Damian Lingard making 63.

Aaron Jones, though wicketless bowled a tight spell conceding 16 runs off his nine overs with Liam Hartigan 3-37, Mike Frohlich 2-34, and Andy Parkinson 1-33 claiming the six Winterbourne wickets to fall.

Almondsbury, once again thank Bob Stephens for all his efforts as club scorer this season and appreciate his efforts.
