Hucclecote 19 North Bristol Ladies 30
NORTH Bristol Ladies had an historic day for their first official match.
The female side of the club has grown since April 2017 and since then the newly formed Ladies team has grown under the coaching of Matt Belbin and girls rugby for U13s, U15s and U18s has also flourished with almost forty girls turning up every week.
Both teams played an entertaining game. It was the home side that scored first for a 7-0 lead, but North hit back for Kirsty Horner to score the first try in the team’s history.
From the re-start, North skipper Rosie Arched raced seventy metres to score.
Try of the game came when North won a scrum against the head. Great handling saw the ball move along the backline and Horner touched down for her second try to hand the lead back to North, 12-15.
North conceded a penalty, but scored tries from Robyn Price,Mya Humphrey and Hopkins.
