THORNBURY A travelled to table-toppers Redland B in search of maintaining a perfect start to the season.

The evening started well with Brad Jenkins comfortably winning his match 3-0, this was followed by both Sam Davidson and Craig Webb coming through tricky matches 3-1.

Callum Davidson dispatched his opponent in no time at all in a 3-0 blast and debutant Celine Walser wrapped up the 19-2 victory with a dominant 3-0 win.

This leaves Thornbury at the top of Premier A going into week three.

Thornbury B team shot out of the starting blocks against David Lloyd Battle Oats with number one Mark Toseland winning his match 3-0.

There were courageous performances from Rob Livingstone and Cliff Hall who were both 2-0 down before crafting out their individual strategies to turn their matches around to win 3-2.

Captain Justin Edwards was on form taking the first game 9-0 and experimented with his power game approach which proved successful on the night taking the match 3-0.

Chris Hutchence could not find a way to deal with his opponent on the night. He played very well and lost his match 3-0.

Thornbury B are now in the middle position of Division One after two games.

They are seven points off the top spot .

Thornbury C were both out played and out dressed this week by the youngsters from Bath Uni second team.

Only Pete Bowen managed to win his match with everyone else playing significantly higher level opponents. After beating Thornbury fair and square, the uni boys squeezed into their spangly outfits and hurried back to Bath to continue the freshers week party.

Thornbury D suffered a heavy defeat away to Bradley Stoke losing 19-2. Graham Dono and Jon Hewitt picking up the only points for Thornbury on the night.
