Severn Valley League Cup
Rodborough 2 Winterbourne United Under 16s 8
WINTERBOURNE United U16s travelled to Rodborough in the Severn Valley league cup second group stage fixture and returned with three points to top the group and stay undefeated.
Another impressive away performance and a first half hat trick by Harry Young saw Winterbourne over come a stubborn Rodborough first have performance.
The first half was a topsy turvy affair with the visitors going 2-0 up quickly only for the home team to pull a goal back. Winterbourne then extended their lead when Young slotted Home a penalty to complete his first half hat trick.
Rodborough then pulled another goal back after a long range shot sailed over Thorne in the Bourne goal to make the score 3-2 to visitors at the break.
The second half was a more straight forward affair for Winterbourne as they confidently scored five unanswered second half goals from Ollie Ford, Kieran Joseph, Kieran Sullivan, Ben Hillier and Sam Hopes all getting on the score sheet.
Rodborough were blown away in the second half by a great team performance that sees Winterbourne in a good position to qualify for the knock out stages.
