Stroud League Division Three

Tetbury Town Reserves 2-2 Thornbury Town Reserves

TOWN’S second string came away from Tetbury with a point following an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Thornbury started brightly but gradually the hosts took control and it was no surprise when they went ahead after 20 minutes, Eddolls heading home past James Lewis from a corner.

However their lead was short lived when Dan Rees was brought down in the penalty area and Josh Reed equalised from the penalty spot after 24 minutes.

Ten minutes later Thorns took the lead when a searching cross from Tom Stewart found Reed at the far post and the striker steered the ball home to make it 2-1.

Thorns then had a number of chances to extend their lead but some wayward finishing let them down.

The second half saw Thorns control most of the play without creating many clear cut chances but just as it looked as if they would hold on for a win, Tetbury grabbed an equaliser.

With just five minutes left on the clock a free-kick into the penalty area was stabbed home by Jones.

The Reserves are at home to Chalford Reserves this Saturday, with kick off 2:00pm at the Mundys.
