THORNBURY Town are changing the venue for Saturday's Gloucestershire County League clash with Gala Wilton to the Hardwicke Field, Tytherington.

This is due to work taking place around Town's normal pitch, the Mundy Playing Fields, to provide a hard surface for spectators, A statement from the club said: "This is part of our overall plan to improve facilities at the Mundy Playing Fields to a standard suitable for promotion.

"We have had planning permission granted with conditions for a fifty seater stand along with new dugout shelters, and we hope to have news on the application for floodlights and perimeter fencing in the coming week.

"We would like to thank Tytherington Rocks for their hospitality this coming Saturday."

Thornbury are currently top of the league and hope that, by winning it, they will be promoted to Western League first division status.
