SCUNTHORPE is going to be a big game for us because they are near the top of the league.
We always do well against the big teams and put in a good performance so I have confidence in the lads that they should be alright.
At Bournemouth the lads felt we did well for 30 minutes before Byron Anthony got sent off. We got back on top but lacked a little bit in the final third. The lads thought they were going to win this time but we never seem to beat them. It is frustrating because it would have been nice to go through to the next round but we’ve got to think about the league now and put it behind us.
We are a bit short at the back now Byron is suspended. Steve Elliott came back but had a nasty collision in training with Josh Klein-Davies and trapped a nerve in his hip. He came into the physio room and started laughing in an annoyed way saying, ‘I’m injured again!’ It’s push and shove to see if he’ll be fit for Friday but if not I’m sure we’ll be able to change some positions around and it will sort itself out.
My knee is getting better. I’ve been back up doing some jogging and some passing of the ball which was not too bad. I’ll push on, take my time and make sure I’m 100 per cent fit before I come back. It should be a week to a week and a half until I get back to full training.
