WITH all other games in the division being rained off, Thornbury ceased an opportunity with captain Richard Trotman scoring a century.
A narrow victory over Chippenham moved Thornbury to within one point of Westbury & District in the second promotion spot with two games left to play.
In a match that was reduced to 30 overs per side after three rain delays, Trotman smashed exactly 100 off just 77 balls, with nine fours and six sixes as Thornbury reached 167-8.
Trotman then did the damage with the ball, taking 3-24 off six overs to help Thornbury successfully defend their total.
Greg Stephens took 2-42 and Juvaunie Gayle (1-21) and Harry Blackwell (1-29) took one wicket apiece.
Thornbury travel to Warminster on Saturday.
Rockhampton will hope to keep their faint promotion hopes to Premier Two alive when they host Hatherley & Reddings.
In the Bristol & North Somerset Division, second placed Chipping Sodbury visit Nailsea.
Local rivals Winterbourne could do them a favour by beating league leaders Bishopston at home.
