DAIRYMAIDS became the new Active 5aside champions of 2012 for South Gloucestershire.
The final was hosted by Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre and featured an all-Thornbury final.
Their victory was a first for a team from Thornbury in the 16 years that the finals have been competed since they were introduced back in 1997.
Dairymaids took their league form into the group stages of the finals by winning all three matches, which set up quarter and semi-final duels against Bradley Stoke, runners-up The Saints and Yate champions Hillesley Veterans, which they won 8-4 and 7-6. respectively.
Westbuild had entered the finals through the cup winners route as a third division team winning their own cup competition at Thornbury.
Dairymaids went in to the final as favourites due to their league placing.
However, it was a Joe McClellan strike that put Westbuild in front as the underdogs came flying out of the traps to lead 5-4 at half-time.
Dairymaids were to prove too wise as four strikes from Ashley Bennett in the second period saw the shield going to BS35 for the first time.
Dairymaids will be out to defend their title next season as just one of over 120 teams take to the courts in the long road back to the Area Finals, for which the venue will be Kingswood Leisure Centre in July 2013.
