YATE TOWN’S hopes of lifting themselves off the foot of the Southern League Division One South & West table were dashed when their six-pointer at fellow strugglers Sholing was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on Saturday.

The rearranged Red Insure League Cup clash against Cinderford Town on Tuesday night (7.45pm) is also under threat due to the torrential rain the area has been experiencing after the tie was originally called off last week.

Yate were scheduled to be at home to North Leigh in the league on Tuesday, but that game has been pushed back to Tuesday, January 29 as the cup takes precedence.
