HAWKESBURY Primary School enjoyed success at the preliminary rounds of the Riddiford Shield indoor football tournament which took place at Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School in Wotton-under-Edge.
The team were made up of six players between Year 5 and 6 and played four matches.
In the first match against Kingswood Primary School, Hawkesbury won 1-0 with Lucas Walker scoring a wonderful goal and Tommy Merritt saving a good amount of shots.
They beat Stone Primary school 2-0 with goals scored by Colby Barker and Walker.
In their third game against British Primary School, they won 2-1 with George Baxendine scoring two fabulous goals.
Their final game against North Nibley was a draw.
Hawkesbury will now go on to the finals which will take place at Brimscombe Inside Football Centre on February 13.
