GLOUCESTERSHIRE relinquished control of their County Championship game against Hampshire on day two at the County Ground in Bristol.
They added just 12 runs to their overnight score of 192-5, Will Tavare the last man out for 139, as Kyle Abbot (5-67) and James Tomlinson (4-68) ripped through the tail.
James Vince then hit 144 as Hampshire finished the day on 417-9, with Will Gidman and youngster Matthew Taylor taking four wickets apiece for Gloucestershire.
