AIMING to build on the success of 2013, when Bristol Academy were named FA Club of the Year, the players have been out in force to show they are stars both on and off the pitch.

Community ambassador and wide forward Natasha Harding delivered a taster session at Berrow Juniors in April and visited their presentation evening, also putting on a session Crossways Junior School Thornbury.

Crossways head teacher Gareth Jones said: “The girls had a very positive and enjoyable coaching session with Tash.

“She helped develop their football skills and also gave many of them a confidence boost.

“Tash also showed them that women’s football is thriving and they too can be part of this exciting development in the sport.”

Meanwhile, Spanish duo Natalia and Keka visited the Girl’s Football festival in Hereford in May and Angharad James has been delivering taster sessions at Yate’s Gifted and Talented programme.

The girls from Yate attended the match against Oxford United as mascots and ball girls, enjoying the Vixens’ 9-2 resounding success.

Georgia Evans supported the ‘Girl Guiding’ Girls Football Taster Session in Stroud, which saw 80 Rainbows, Brownies and Guides aged five to 14 descend on Stratford Park Leisure Centre.

Evans, who recently made her senior debut for Dave Edmondson’s WSL1 team, said: “It’s good to see so many girls wanting to play football and wanting to know more about Bristol Academy.”

Over 100 girl guides will attend Bristol’s Continental Cup tie against Aston Villa on July 5.
