DOZENS of King Edmund club members have been busy collecting medals in traditional manner at the annual South West Championships in Sherborne, writes Simon Parkinson.

Among many stand-out performances within the Yate club’s enthusiastic contingent came from nine-year-old Henry Skidmore and seven-year-old Dylan Bruce, who coolly won the Men’s Grade 3 Pairs Out-of-Age category.

Those accomplishments by the promising duo were matched by Abbie Kirby and Lola Sady, who claimed gold in the Grade 2 Women’s Out-of-Age Pairs with the highest score in any section during the competition.

Head coach Nikki Thorne said: “King Eddies came back with ten golds, three silvers and three bronzes and much of the credit for that goes to our coaches, who ensured the gymnasts were spot-on when it came to their preparation and appearance going into the event.”
