YATE rider Luke Hedger will be looking to get his season back on track when he returns to action in the British Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend.

The reigning British Superstock champion’s year hasn’t gone to plan so far.

Signs were good at round one when he qualified on the second row in sixth place and finished the first race in this position but his campaign went downhill from there as he had a big crash in the second race on the last lap whilst in sixth position.

Round two was held at his favourite circuit, Oulton Park, but he was plagued by mechanical gremlins all weekend and had to pull out of both races.

Hoping to regroup over the long six-week break, the Gearlink Kawasaki team fixed all the problems and travelled to the Mallory Park circuit to test the bike.

However, a huge crash put a halt to Hedger’s campaign because he went down hard and broke his left arm and he has missed the last two rounds.

Hedger has two practice sessions on Friday with his one and only qualifying session the following day.

The first race will start on Saturday at 5.15pm with the second race at 3.40pm on Sunday, both broadcast live on Eurosport 2.
