Chipping Sodbury Town 7 Southmead CS Athletic 0

CHIPPING Sodbury Town have hit the ground running this season.

After claiming a 4-0 win in the Les James League Cup against Frampton United last Wednesday, they fired seven past Southmead CS Athletic in their first league match on Saturday.

Three players hit a brace of goals each – Danny Coombes, Ollie Clark and James Mackie – with Mike Beacham netting the other.

Justin Cattle flicked the ball through to Coombes to volley home after five minutes.

Clark made it two on 21 minutes with hard low free kick into the bottom corner.

The third goal came in the 40th minute when Mackie headed home at the far post from a Coombes cross.

Two minutes into the second half Clark drove home his second.

It was 5-0 on 58 minutes with a goal from Beacham.

Mackie made it six when he got in front of the Southmead defender from a Cattle cross.

The final goal on 60 minutes was a classy chip over the keeper from Coombes.
