LEWIS Haldane scored a goal worth £1,925 in what could turn out to be his last appearance for Yate Town at Cowes.

The former Bristol Rovers striker, the subject of a seven-day approach from Southern League Premier Division side Paulton Rovers, struck with seven minutes to go in the Isle of Wight to earn the club some valuable prize money and set up a home tie against Dorchester Town in the next round for the Bluebells.

Yate created the better of the chances against the Wessex LeagueDivision One side but could not find a breakthrough until Haldane forced the ball home at the back post to avoid the possibility of a replay at Lodge Road.
