LEWIS Haldane scored with his first touch to send Yate through to the second round of the Red Insure Cup with a 2-1 win at home to Clevedon Town on Tuesday night.
Haldane had only just come off the bench when he forced home the winner with eight minutes left.
Jordan Rogers had earlier given Yate the lead when he headed home Jake Cox's cross after 16 minutes but Clevedon found parity within three minutes of the second half when Kye Thomas drove home from the edge of the box.
Yate are at home to North Leigh in the FA Trophy Preliminary Round on Saturday, 3pm.
