Berry Hill 40 Frampton Cotterell 20

ILL-discipline cost Frampton Cotterell dearly as they were beaten by Berry Hill.

The visitors went 20 minutes with only 14 men on the pitch and despite running in three second half tries they were left with too much to do .

The game started at a frantic pace with both sides looking to run the ball from all areas of the pitch, but both defences were equal to the task as only penalties were exchanged for the first 20 minutes, making it 6-3 to Berry Hill.

Berry Hill's size advantage against the young Frampton front eight then started to show and after a couple of rolling mauls they crashed over in the corner.

This led to another quick try.

Frampton regrouped for the remainder of the first half but a try right on half-time from another strong Berry Hill scrum led to a yellow card to No 8 Josh Creed, which meant they were to start the second half with only 14 men.

The visitors battled bravely for the opening 10 minutes of the second half but shipped two further tries.

Once Frampton were back to their full 15, playing down the slope with the wind, suddenly they were on top.

A superb interception try from Matt Lawrence, having to run the length of the pitch and just diving over the line before his legs gave way, started the comeback.

Creed ran over the Berry Hill fly half from a 10 metre scrum to crash over the line, then prop Tim Childs was on the end of a superb quick tap penalty and backs move to dive over in the corner.

The home crowd were starting to worry, however their more experienced members soon rallied and they ran in one final try to make the game safe.
