Yate Town Reserves 3 Cheltenham Civil Service 1

YATE Town Reserves are off the mark with a 3-1 win over Cheltenham Civil Service.

Liam Pullen’s cross on 30 minutes turned in by Henry Jones on the far post gave the home side the lead.

Ten minutes later they were 2-0 up after Jamal Fishers cross into the box was only partially cleared and Mike Alvis was on hand to score.  Just before the break Alvis struck the upright. Cheltenham pulled a goal back on 70 minutes from the penalty spot a foul by Yate keeper Dan Worton that saw him receive a red card.

Yate battled on with ten men and Anton Dowe who came on three minutes from the end rounded the keeper to net a third goal for Yate.

The Reserves face a difficult tie this weekend when they travel to second-placed Patchway Town who have not lost yet in five matches.
