GFA Challenge Trophy
Gala Wilton 1 Winterbourne United 3
WINTERBOURNE United took another step towards the Gloucestershire Football Association Challenge Trophy with a top victory at Gala Wilton.
Winterbourne, of the Western League Premier Division, went ahead on 14 minutes from a cross into the box that found Mario Mataeus completely unmarked to head home.
Gala made changes and brought on Ryan Hughes that marked an improvement in play and in the 51st minute Alex Pritchard’s long range effort beat the visitor’s keeper to level the score.
The visitors retook the lead on 81 minutes with a speculative shot from the edge of the box by Jabhere Ngozi. Winterbourne then wrapped it up in the 87th minute when Rob Sivers squared the ball back for Alex Monks to head home.
